The Imagination Movers are riding a wave of extreme popularity, thanks to their show on the Disney Channel. The Juice Box Heroes cd is rock and roll for kids.

Juice Box Heroes is the 4th cd for the Imagination Movers. The three previous releases were produced by Rec Room Records. The 4th, Juice Box Heroes, is a Walt Disney Records production.

The Music on Juice Box Heroes

The Imagination Movers’ press kit calls the group’s musical style “Beastie Boys meets Mr. Rogers”. With a rock and roll rhythm that gets the kids dancing and keeps parents from turning the music down, the Beastie Boys component is obvious. But Mr. Rogers? It’s the lyrics that channel the man with the sweater. “Please and Thank You” remind kids of the importance of good manners, ”Can You Do It” encourages listeners to try their best, and “First Day of School” reassures the short ones that school is not a scary place.

Gently sneaking a teaching moment in with the funky and fun beats, the Imagination Movers have received recognition for their lyrical work. Named Best of Children’s Music 2008 by iTunes and earning kudos from Parenting Magazine, Juice Box Heroes is a mix of all that is best about the Imagination Movers, remixing songs from the group’s older cds and introducing new favorites to their expanded audience.

Meet The Imagination Movers

The New Orleans-based band members that make up the Imagination Movers include Scott ‘Smitty’ Smith, Scott Durbin, Rich Collins, and Dave Poche. (Source: Imagination Movers website). Together since 2003, the band has a rock n’ roll style and an energy level that shocks the ears. With Durbin often singing lead, Smith, Poche, and Collins sing backup vocals and provide the instrumentals with drums, guitar, and keyboards.
